Constantine Toumbis

Constantine Toumbis, MD - Citrus Spine Institute Surgeon

A surgeon from Crystal River, Florida, Constantine Toumbis, MD, was an orthopedic and spine surgeon for 12 years before opening his own center in 2016. In addition to overseeing the Citrus Spine Institute, Constantine Toumbis, MD, performs spine surgeries.

Dr. Toumbis graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1998. He began a surgical internship the same year and completed an orthopedic surgery residency with the University of Florida in 2004. He completed a spine surgical fellowship with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation at the Florida Spine Institute in 2005.

Dr. Toumbis performed spinal surgeries for Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center, Citrus Memorial Hospital, and Citrus Orthopedic and Joint Institute beginning in 2005. He still performs spine surgeries with Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center and Citrus Memorial Hospital.

Besides his role with Citrus Spine Institute, Dr. Toumbis has taught courses at Yeshiva University, Canisius College, and the State University of New York, among others. Additionally, he has produced research published in peer-reviewed journals and is affiliated with the North American Spine Society. For his work in orthopedics, Dr. Toumbis has been recognized as a top doctor by Castle Connolly Medical, U.S. News & World Report, and Ocala Magazine, in addition to receiving multiple Healthgrades Awards.

In the community, Dr. Toumbis is actively involved with charities and his church, Seven Rivers Presbyterian. He also served on the board of Citrus Memorial Hospital.
